Annandale Dialogue on Diversity

From Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs:

Why is embracing diversity a challenge?    Dealing with diversity can be daunting.  In the past, the people we interacted with were very similar to ourselves. Today, our communities have become increasingly more diverse.  New immigrants and refugees living in America also face multiple challenges.  Let’s Talk!  Share personal stories and experiences, honestly express perspectives, clarify view points, and develop solutions to the realities which make dealing with diversity a challenge.  A light meal and refreshments will be provided.  This event is FREE and open to the public.

Wednesday, March 23 – 6:30 p.m.

Annandale High School Cafeteria –4700 Medford Drive, Annandale, VA 22003 Please be sure to park in the lot behind the school.

New Report Gives DC 4th Place for Worst Traffic Congestion - Winning!

You may recall that the Texas Transportation Institute recently posted the results of a study which found the DC area tied with Chicago as having the worst traffic in the country. Ouch! But, you know, numbers are funny. Using a completely different methodology employing GPS devices, another study by INRIX, a private firm that monitors nationwide traffic, reported that Washington, DC ranked behind Los Angeles, New York and Chicago in time wasted sitting in traffic. goDCgo’s conclusion: we’re not the worst - we’re just really, really bad!

Past tragedies and natural disasters have prompted individuals with criminal intent to solicit contributions purportedly for a charitable organization and/or good cause. Before making a donation of any kind, consumers should adhere to certain guidelines, including the following:
