Free Class Demonstrates Popular New Workout Program

From Fairfax County Park Authority:

LES MILLS BODYPUMP™, a popular exercise-to-music program developed in New Zealand, will be offered in four Fairfax County Park Authority RECenters this fall. To demonstrate the benefits of this exciting new program, certified instructors are conducting a free, one-hour class in the gymnasium at Audrey Moore RECenter on July 30, 2011, at 9 a.m. The class is open to the first 100 registrants. Adults of all ages are invited to participate.

BODYPUMP™ is a non-impact exercise class that works every major muscle group in the body using weights, a bar, and choreographed steps. The class is designed to shape and tone muscles, increase bone density, improve general fitness, and give participants a general sense of achievement. Upbeat music and compelling choreography inspire participants throughout the 45 to 60-minute workouts. Instructors guide participants in selecting weights to suit individual fitness levels.

Five million people a week now take part in LES MILLS™ exercise-to-music programs at 12,000 health clubs in more than 70 countries around the world. All choreography is developed in conjunction with health experts to ensure the moves are safe, and classes are updated every three months so participants stay engaged.

To reserve a spot at the demonstration class, call Audrey Moore Fitness Director Megan Hare at 703-321-7081, or send an e-mail tomegan.hare@fairfaxcounty.gov.  Audrey Moore RECenter is located at 8100 Braddock Road in Annandale, Virginia.
