Find Out About Owls Round The Campfire at Hidden Oaks

From Fairfax County Park Authority:

Learn to identify barred owls from other native owls while enjoying the campfire at Hidden Oaks Nature Center on Saturday, August 27, 2011.  The one-hour program starts at 7:30 p.m. and is appropriate for youngsters at least four years old.  Participants will also roast marshmallows.  The cost is $5 per person.  You can register online at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/parktakes/ or call 703-222-4664.

Set within 52-acre Annandale Community Park, Hidden Oaks Nature Center is located at 7701 Royce Street in Annandale, Va. The woods surrounding the center feature an easy loop trail 1/3 mile long.  Bird watching and photography are special pleasures in these quiet surroundings. While strolling through the woods, visitors can view a railroad embankment built just before the Civil War. This railway, never completed, is part of the Virginia and National Historic Landmark Manassas Gap Railroad.
